Arbor
Day Tree Celebration
COBURG – As a corporation, one our objectives is
to give back to our community. Recently, we had the opportunity
to do this through the sponsoring of Coburg’s Tree
City USA Arbor Day Celebration. This event not only helps
to beautify the local community with new folliage, but it
also provides an avenue for the youth of Coburg to take
an active roll in this process.
April 6, 2001, marked the Arbor Day Celebration for the
City of Coburg, as they celebrated their 3rd year as Tree
City USA. The fifth grade class of Coburg Elementary planted
seven Big Leaf Maple Trees on North Harrison and East McKenzie.
Monaco Coach Corporation provided each of the youths with
a t-shirt to commemorate their participation in this event.
“The celebration tends to bring the community close
and gives the kids a sense of ownership. We look forward
to doing this event every year. The city appreciates very
much the generosity of Monaco Coach Corporation,”
said City Public Works Supervisor Jack Harris.
