Nursery Relief
The
Eugene Relief Nursery recently announced that their ReliefMobile,
a Holiday Rambler Endeaver donated by Monaco Coach Corporation,
would be providing yet another service to the community.
The ReliefMobile will be available at the Lane County Courthouse
every Monday morning for families obtaining protective orders
as a result of domestic violence. The special service is
free to all children ages five and under, allowing them
to play in a supervised environment instead of sitting in
a courtroom.
When it was donated in 1999, the ReliefMobile was converted
from a normal motorhome into an Outreach Center complete
with a playroom, changing table, toy and clothing storage,
parental resources and fully functional kitchen and restroom.
Even as it serves as a temporary daycare at the courthouse
today, the coach will still provide all the previous services
to parents in need, including clothes, toys, books, parenting
support and referrals to community agencies.
The Relief Nursery works with low-income families who have
children under the age of six, offering a number of programs
to teach people of all ages how to be better parents. The
Nursery’s mission is to prevent the cycle of child
abuse by early intervention. For more information, call
