Monaco Miracles - OREGON
Walk for Cystic Fybrosis
On Saturday, May 12, there will be a walk to help cure
cystic fibrosis, put on by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting 30,000 children
and adults in the United States. A defective gene leads
to chronic and life-threatening lung infections and impairs
digestion. Currently there is no cure. This particular walk
is for the Oregon Monaco employees to join in with the entire
Oregon company team and the local community to enjoy a day
at Alton Baker Park. The check-in time is at 9am with the
walk beginning at 10am at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon.
You can begin by signing up through Human Resources. Great
Strides is a nationally sponsored event. People who want
to participate find others who want to support them in a
6.2-mile walk. With a minimum of a $10 sponsorship, Monaco
Coach Corporation will provide employees with a free T-shirt.
We hope to see many people representing Monaco Coach Corporation
and helping to raise funds in the hopes of curing Cystic
Fibrosis. For more information, contact Miki Scheer at ext.
8086. –Michael Wilson

Donation Bins
Oregon’s Monaco Miracles has started a donation program.
After the national tragedy, donation cans were set up in
lunch rooms to collect donations. Monaco Miracles will collect
all donations and add it to the company’s donation
of $5,000 to the American Red Cross relief effort. In September,
bins were set up in lunch rooms to collect school supplies.
Four large bins were filled in two short weeks. These were
donated to Coburg Elementary, Springfield, and Harrisburg.
This month we are collecting Coats for Kids. You can drop
off your donations in the lunch room bins. If you have any
suggestions for future donations, please feel free to contact
any of your Monaco Miracles Oregon representatives (Anna
Wells, Cindy Cobb, Miki Scheer, Vance Buell, Nora Mitchell,
Alan Gillespie, Tandy Wallace, Doneta Cobb, Betsey LaSalle
or Shari de Jesus).
Walk America
Walkers from the Oregon facilities joined to walk for the
American Diabetes Association on October 6, 2001 at Alton
Baker Park, in Eugene, OR. Together with Monaco Miracles,
a donation of $3,754 was collected. Good job team!
